SECURITIES

Advantages of Gifts of Securities
· You get an income tax deduction based on the value of the securities at the time you make the gift.
· You avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated value of the securities.
· The Croswell can immediately use the proceeds for the purpose you specify or for general support of
   essential initiatives.
· It's easy! Contact Jere Righter at the Croswell for more information about making a gift of securities.

Valuation
The value of your gift will be the average of the high and the low trading prices on the official date of your gift.
The date of gift is the day the Croswell assumes ownership of the security.

value to the Croswell.  Examples might include costume or furniture pieces, artwork, and equipment.

Planned Gifts to the Croswell
Whether it's a provision in your will or a gift that provides you with lifetime income, there
are many options for supporting the Croswell. We invite you to learn more and hope you will
contact us if we may be of further assistance.
·Turn assets into income and enjoy a tax deduction with a charitable gift annuity.
·Include the Croswell as a beneficiary of your retirement fund
·Name the Croswell as an heir as part of your well-planned estate

Charitable IRA Rollover
President Obama has extended this popular program, so taxpayers over the age of 70½ can support
great causes like the Croswell by making a donation free from tax complications, through their Individual
Retirement Accounts (IRA).
Another great benefit of using this method for making gift now, while you are living, is you will be able
to witness the benefits of your generosity. This unique opportunity is set to expires at the end of 2011.
You may contribute funds this way if:
· You are age 70½ or older at the time of the gift.
· The gifts total any amount up to $100,000 in 2011.
· You transfer funds directly from an IRA.
· You transfer the gifts outright to one or more qualified charities, but not to supporting organizations,
or for gift annuities, charitable trusts or donor advised funds.

An Example of putting this law to use:
Jean, aged 80, has $450,000 in an IRA and would like to give the Croswell $50,000 this year.  If Jean
transfers $50,000 to us directly from the IRA, she will avoid paying income tax on that amount. She cannot,
however, claim a charitable deduction. Jean has found an easy way to benefit the Croswell without tax
complications. If Jean’s spouse has an IRA and is 70½ or older, he can also give up to $100,000 tax-free
to a charity of his choice.
