Character Descriptions for House of Frankenstein! *
Baron Victor Von Frankenstein is about thirty-five years old. He is of clean cut appearance and speaks forcefully. An extrovert and emothional day-dreamer.
Ygor can be played at any age. He is a hunchback, ugly and speaks and shambles like Charles Laughton's Quasimodo. He is scruffy in appearance and extrovert and eccentric in manner.
The Monster resembles the "Creature" as played by Boris Karloff. He is of indeterminate age and appears to be the most stupid and pathetic being imaginable. He wears ill-fitting clothes and moves clumsily.
Frau Lurker is about sixty-five and has a dour and menacing manner. She speaks tersely with a harsh German accent and marches rahter than walks. She wears unrelieved black. (Can be played by a man.)
Baroness Elizabeth Von Frankenstein is twenty-seven years old, very attractive, but diffident, bored and outspoken. Castle Frankenstein is not her idea of home.
Harry Talbot is a good looking if somewhat dejected AMerican in his early thirties. He is obviously a loner but is capable of arousing sympathy. He has to be able to dance.
Countess Ilona Bathory appears to be in her late thirties and is both attractive and stylishly dressed. Her manner is usaully restrained, but there are moments when her true passions are revealed. She speaks with a mid-European accent. She should be able to dance.
The Phanthom of the Opera is about forty, but is hard to tell since his face is almost entirely concealed by a mask. He is French and his mood varies from one of menace to that of dispirited romantic.
Count Vlad Dracula appears to be in his mid-forties. He speaks with a Romanian accent and his appearance is suave yet sinister. His manner varies between dejection and ferocity, but at all times he should appear formidable. He should be able to dance.
Isabel Channing is an American in her early twenties. She is attractive but her manner is abrasive. Like most of the other characters she is a total extrovert. She is also a dancer.
